WGU Financial Services Phone Number
WGU’s already affordable tuition can be further reduced with the help of financial aid. By utilizing financial aid responsibly, you can complete your degree while minimizing the accumulation of student loan debt.
How to Apply for Financial Aid?
The financial aid application process involves completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at StudentAid.gov. This application determines your eligibility based on your financial situation. If you are a first-time user, create an FSA ID to access your information and sign the FAFSA.
After WGU receives your FAFSA (3–5 business days), you can complete the following steps through the WGU Student Portal’s Financial Services section:
-
Entrance counseling (if using federal student loans): Complete this on StudentAid.gov to understand your borrower rights and responsibilities.
-
Master Promissory Note (MPN) (if using federal student loans): Electronically sign this legal document at StudentAid.gov, creating a contract to repay the loans.
-
Additional documentation (as required): You may need to submit additional documents listed in the Financial Services section of your Student Portal.
-
Review and accept your financial aid offer: Once you complete the FAFSA, you will receive a personalized My Financial Aid Plan in your student portal. Review the plan and accept the recommended loan amount or request a custom amount not exceeding your eligibility. WGU will send an offer letter detailing your loan and grant amounts to your WGU email. This completes the financial aid process.
